The Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on Thursday, led other council officials and environmental officers on a sensitisation campaign and environmental sanitation exercise aimed at achieving a cleaner and safer environment across the LCDA.
The exercise, which aimed to promote environmental responsibility and public health awareness among residents and warning against illegal roadside trading, began at the Ijede LCDA Secretariat and extended through major streets, markets, roadside shops, and drainages across Ijede.

During the exercise, the Council Chairman engaged with residents, and roadside traders, sensitizing them on the dangers of indiscriminate refuse disposal, and illegal roadside trading practices that pose safety risks.
“My administration will no longer tolerate street trading and environmental negligence. All roadside traders should move into designated market spaces. I urge all residents to maintain good hygiene and environmental cleanliness and make sanitation a daily responsibility,” she said.
